Lots of people were looking to get out and celebrate in The Dalles on Sunday.

Oregon lifted all state mandated COVID-19 restrictions last week. Which made this 4th of July the first event in over a year to not have mask wearing mandates.

Fort Dalles Fourth, a volunteer organization put on a number of events this 4th of July.

The festivities kicked off with a Rocket Run and Community Breakfast at Bargeway Pub early Sunday morning, followed by Community Yoga, and a 4th of July Parade in downtown The Dalles.

And although the parade had fewer floats and attendees than in previous years, several spectators commented that it was ‘just nice to be outside and see other people’s faces again.’

The grand finale to the day’s festivities will be a firework show in front of The Dalles Marina at 10 PM on the 4th of July.
