Cell Phones in School

This letter was written by a student in Courtney Middleton's English Learning Development Class at Colonel Wright Elementary School. The students have drafted this letter in order to practice their English and their persuasive writing skills. To learn more about the project click here.

There are many issues facing students today. I will argue that students should be allowed to have their cell phone at school.

Yes, students should be allowed to have their phones at school, so they can call their mom and dad or their brother and sister. Also, so they can use the apps that help them with math stuff. I think students should have the phones in their backpacks and not in their desks, so they don’t use the phones to make tik toks.

Anyways I think that it is okay for 4th and 5th graders can have them because they are older,  but 3rd 2nd are not okay because they are not older they are younger. Some of the older kids can also do some mean stuff to the younger ones, they are older so they won't do it. But I think the older one can have the phones because they are much older.

I don’t see why the younger kids should have the phones because they are becoming some of the ‘’older’’ kids but they are just some younger kids but it is the moms and dads ideas because they are saying ‘’yes you can have your phone”.

In conclusion, I think students in 4th and 5th grade should be allowed to have their phones at school as long as they keep them put away.
