Vote Yes on The Dalles High School Bond

To the Editor:

As grandparents of students in D21, we strongly endorse a yes vote for the bond measure to build a new high school. We urge all voters to vote yes. We are a retired classroom teacher and a retired school superintendent having worked in multiple districts. In those districts, we saw that when school bonds passed and new facilities were constructed, there was a positive impact on students and the community.

Those experiences taught us that up-to-date and modern facilities show how much the community values its children.
When the community sends a positive message about education, by passing school measures, students thrive. It is our generation’s opportunity and responsibility to provide for this and future generations of students in The Dalles. Past generations stepped up for us when we were young, and now it is our turn. The students of The Dalles deserve a modern and first-class school facility.
