Columbia Gorge Community College Celebrates Cinco de Mayo in Style

The Dalles, OR March 25, 2024 — Columbia Gorge Community College (CGCC) is thrilled to announce its upcoming Cinco de Mayo celebration, set to transform the campus amphitheater into a vibrant marketplace of culture, music, and fun. Tree Rocha, CGCC's Bilingual Mentor and Tutoring Service Coordinator, along with Blanca Aunger, Bilingual Student Services Support Specialist III, and Brenda Garcia Lua, Payroll and Benefits Manager, extends an open invitation to the community to join this festive event.

Date and Time: May 1st, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Location: CGCC Campus Amphitheater, The Dalles, Oregon

This year's celebration takes inspiration from a traditional "Pluga" (flea market) and promises a range of entertaining activities for everyone. Highlights of the event include live music by a local band, delicious tacos served fresh from a taco truck, piñatas filled with surprises, and mesmerizing performances by Folklorico dancers.

Participants are encouraged to reserve a space to showcase their own fun activities at the event. Whether you're an individual, a local business, or a community organization, this is a splendid opportunity to engage with the community in a meaningful and celebratory way.

To participate, please respond at your earliest convenience with the following details:

  • Whether a table is required for your activity

  • The nature of the activity you're planning

  • If chairs are needed, and how many

  • Any additional requests or questions you may have

Spaces are limited, so we urge interested parties to reply promptly to secure their spot. In case you cannot attend after reserving a space, kindly inform us as soon as possible to minimize unnecessary correspondence.
