ODFW Recreation Report: Best Bets for Weekend Fishing

ODFW Recreation Report: Best Bets for Weekend Fishing

From Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Recreation Report:

Best bets for weekend fishing

The best fishing opportunities continue to be for trout and winter steelhead.‌

  • Anglers are catching winter steelhead from the coast to Hood River when conditions allow. Keep an eye on water levels, and hit the river once they begin to drop.

  • The spring trout stocking season is underway in the Willamette and Southwest zones with several waterbodies being stocked this week.

  • Native trout and mountain whitefish are available year-round in central and eastern Oregon rivers. Consider the Deschutes, Fall, Metolius, Blitzen, and Wallowa.

Check ODFW’s zone reports for more options here.

Columbia River Spring Chinook seasons

Learn to hunt turkey
