Record High Temperatures Recorded in Oregon and Washington

March weather has felt more like June than March this past week.

By Cole Goodwin

Dallesport, WA, March 20, 2024 – The US National Weather Service reported record breaking temperatures for March in Dallesport, WA and several other locations in the Pendleton Service area yesterday.

“Fun Fact: While not extremely unusual, this past warm spell still stands out! While we didn't break the record in Pendleton yesterday (80 in 1934), the high of 76 was still impressive as it was 20 degrees above normal!

Going back the last 130 years in Pendleton, this stretch of 3 days with highs 70 degrees or more was ranked 5th (tied) for the three month period ending March 19.

In terms of similar weather: The high of 76 yesterday in Pendleton is more typical of El Paso, TX (Avg Max: 72.8 °F, Avg Min: 46.2 °F) than Pendleton OR, and is more similar to what we see in early June.” said the National Weather Service today, March 20.
