Goldendale was coming off a win at the Eastern Washington Athletic Conference Champions held on Thursday, Jan. 24, and the team rode that momentum as they earned dual wins over The Dalles and Washougal. Mike Salsbury brings us another stunning photo essay as teams are headed toward the postseason.

Coach Bellamy sees life lessons taking hold in her players’ lives. “The kids learn how to function in a group, celebrate each other, work together even if you’re not the best of friends. We overcame adversity early in the year with relationships and learned to put that aside and play together for the common goal.”

While the results of the last three weeks have been heady and exciting, The Dalles runners know not to count their riverhawks or districts before they’ve hatched. If anything, their strong showing at the district preview and the 3k tuneup will likely motivate the other Tri-Valley teams to outwork and out-kick them this week.

A difference in starting position made all the difference for Aiden Erickson in Oregon City on Sept. 16. Normally in the back, the lean 6’3” sophomore toed the line for the varsity boys’ race, in the front quarter of the pack for the entire race. That lead translated into a 26-second PR from last year, with Erickson finishing sub-18 at 17:56.

Here Come the Riverhawks - TDHS Softball team drills as usual on Thursdays as coaches work to keep this tight-knit team loose and ready to play in what looks to be a great championship game against Henly on Saturday, June 3 in Eugene. The Team is equally good on the field as they are at knocking home runs at a record pace.
TDHS Softball, 23 wins 3 loses, takes on Astoria, 19-6, tonight, May 26, in the playoff quarterfinal in the OSAA 4A bracket. They’ve got a home-field advantage at 16th Street Ballpark in The Dalles. The girls have not lost since March and burned Seaside earlier this week in a 16-0 route. The first pitch is at 6 p.m. Like the long ball? They set the record in that this year too.
