Construction of New Commercial Building Nears Completion in The Dalles

By Cole Goodwin

The Dalles, Ore., February 26, 2024 – Progress is being made on the construction of a new 5,500-square-foot commercial building at the intersection of Lone Pine Blvd and NE Lone Pine Blvd in The Dalles. The new structure sits kitty-corner from Water’s Edge and across the Street from McDonalds near The Dalles Bridge.

The structure is expected to house a Starbucks drive-in and has space for two other businesses. Unconfirmed rumors say that one of those other commercial spaces in the building could become home to a Chipotle restaurant.

Crestline Construction Foreman Tyrell Evans, who was busy installing a grease trap on Monday, said that construction is expected to be completed in about a month.

The Dalles MUD LLC is the owner of the building and is the developer behind the project as a part of finishing out the Lone Pine Subdivision. The City of The Dalles approved The Dalles MUD LLC’s plans to construct 60 apartments and 18 townhouses in the Lone Pine Subdivision during in January.

Contractors on the commercial building project include Crestline Construction, CD Smith Construction Services and East Cascade Electric.
